Shifting workflows up to the cloud has been an accelerated practice since the COVID-19 pandemic, but ESPN has ratcheted up this model to another level. For Tier 2 shows like college basketball in January and college softball in May, the network deployed their all-in-one production philosophy to produce these events entirely in the cloud.
At the 2023 SVG Sports Cloud Production Forum, ESPN's Manager, REMI Operations, Dan Lannon, breaks down the challenges and triumphs of those two unique circumstances, how these workflows still have room for improvement, and offers tips to executing shows in the cloud.
