ENDEMOL LANDS REGIONAL MARKET DEALS FOR INDIAN BIG BROTHER Endemol, the world's largest independent production company, today announced that it has landed new regional market deals for the Indian Big Brother.
Big Boss, the Indian version of the international format, will now be produced by Endemol India in three different languages.
A new Southern Indian version of the show has been commissioned by Viacom 18 channel ETV Kannada and is due to launch in late March 2013.
Endemol India is also set to produce a further regional language version of the format, which will be announced shortly and is expected to air in Summer 2013.
The Hindi version of Big Boss, which is a long running hit for Viacom 18 network Colors, is due to launch its seventh season in Autumn 2013.
All three versions of the format will have a 14 week run of 98 episodes, including special two-hour launch and finale shows, totalling 100 hours of programming for each series.
Endemol India will produce the new versions in Lonavala, outside Mumbai, where the long running Hindi version is made.
Internationally approximately 20 series of Big Brother are made each year airing in over 60 countries. Markets where the show continues to be a hit include the USA, UK, France, Italy, Spain and Israel as well as in Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and Asia.
The latest commissions follow the recent news that Endemol India is to locally adapt Big Boss into a feature film.
