Teletrax broadcast monitoring service to monitor usage of live and pre-recorded NBC News Channel video assets
Eindhoven, The Netherlands, July 2nd 2013- Civolution, the leading provider of technology and solutions for identifying, managing and monetizing media content, today announces a renewed multi-year contract for use of its global broadcast intelligence solution Teletrax by NBC News Channel, a unit of NBC News. NBC News Channel will use Teletrax to understand usage of their pre-recorded and live content by the NBC affiliates, US domestic and international clients.
NBC News Channel produces and distributes hundreds of news stories each day. Under the multi-year agreement, NBC News Channel will employ Civolution's cutting-edge broadcast intelligence solution, Teletrax, to track the usage of its video 24/7 on a selection of broadcasters from the more than 2,000 channels currently monitored by Teletrax. NBC News Channel will gain intelligence on precisely how their content is used and disseminated by the affiliate stations and client broadcasters, allowing more efficient inventory management and optimal allocation of the company's resources in producing and distributing its assets.
We used the power of Teletrax first hand back in 2002 for almost a decade for all our news output, including large events coverage such as the 2004 and 2006 Olympic Games and Winter Olympics, said Bob Horner, President, NBC News Channel. Teletrax monitors more than 2,000 channels around the globe, across over 60 countries from monitoring stations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the US (including all 210 DMAs), South and Central America and Canada. Many of the world's largest media organisations already rely on Teletrax to provide news monitoring including Associated Press, Reuters, Agence France-Press and the European Commission.
All this broadcast intelligence is accessible to clients through a recently re-launched online portal, which was developed based on client feedback. The new dashboard allows for extensive user-customization, and includes the Teletrax OnView plug-in, which enables users to actually view the video as aired on selected TV stations. Along with the richer, visually-driven display of data, and insights which allow clients to grasp at-a-glance the exact reach and usage of their content, clients can also access new competitive analysis tools, such as content retro-tracking'. The Teletrax retro-tracking service delivers detailed reports on the reach of past events by retroactively tracking the TV broadcast of those events.
