BOXX Demonstrates Rendering, Multi-GPU Workstations at SIGGRAPH 0

ANAHEIM, CA -- BOXX Technologies, a provider of high-performance workstations and rendering systems, is demonstrating its multi-GPU 3DBOXX workstations and renderPRO desk side rendering systems at SIGGRAPH 2013.

Experts from Autodesk and Chaos Group, among others, are showcasing creation software like 3ds Max and Mudbox, as well as rendering applications V-Ray, Luxion KeyShot, and Octane Render on BOXX Technologies hardware.

Our SIGGRAPH demos, conducted by leading experts, will reflect that level of commitment as we offer Autodesk, KeyShot, V-Ray, and Octane Render users the opportunity to experience how those applications are supposed to run, says Shoaib Mohammad, BOXX vice president of marketing and business development.

3DBOXX 8980 XTREME, the centerpiece of the 3ds Max and Mudbox demos led by Autodesks Gary M. Davis and Craig Barr, is the worlds fastest dual Intel Xeon workstation. Liquid-cooled and overclocked, XTREME (4+ GHz in turbo mode), features 16 processing cores and up to two NVIDIA GPUs. Designed for 2D/3D, VFX compositing, simulation, rendering, video editing, DI, and more, XTREME enables users to design on the desktop while images render in the background. It also allows for multiple, complex project files to be open simultaneously.

The 3DBOXX 8950 multi-GPU workstation is demonstrating Octane Render, as well as CPU/GPU V-Ray rendering hosted by Chaos Groups Konstantin Gaytandzhiev. Featuring dual Intel Xeon E5-2600 series processors and up to 16 processing cores, the liquid-cooled 3DBOXX 8950 includes up to four dual-slot, add-in graphics, coprocessor, or accelerator cards (NVIDIA Maximus technology) plus an additional three PCI-E slots. The SIGGRAPH demo system will feature three NVIDIA Tesla GPUs, as well as the new NVIDIA Quadro K6000 graphics card featuring 12 GB of memory, 2880 CUDA cores, 288 GB/s memory bandwidth, and 3820 x 2160 maximum resolution. 3DBOXX 8950 is optimized for advanced visualization, simulation, and computation.

BOXX demos also include the redesigned, 16-core renderPRO personal, dedicated rendering solution for 3D graphics, animation, and compositing. Requiring no server room or IT personnel, the configurable renderPRO provides dedicated rendering at the desk side. The BOXX booth is rounded out by a pair of 3DBOXX 4100 series workstations.

Throughout SIGGRAPH 2013, BOXX solutions can also be found at various exhibitor booths including Intel (#201) with 3DBOXX 8980 XTREME and renderPRO demonstrating KeyShot, PNY (#731) showcasing 3DBOXX 4120 with an NVIDIA Quadro K6000 for V-Ray RT demos, Trinity Animation (#110A) with 3DBOXX 8950 demonstrating V-Ray, and Imagination Technologies (#351) with 3DBOXX 8920 demonstrating Visualizer for 3ds Max and Maya on their Caustic Series2 ray tracing acceleration board.

At the SideFX booth #557, the 3DBOXX 4920 XTREME single processor workstation, featuring an overclocked six core, Intel Core i7 processor (up to 4.5 GHz), liquid cooling, and up to four NVIDIA GPUs, will demonstrate Houdinis new Houdini Engine Technology.
