Ed Sheeran Sings His Hit Single Thinking Out Loud As Gaeilge

22 December 2015: Ed Sheeran Sings His Hit Single Thinking Out Loud As Gaeilge, plus Kodaline, The Coronas, The Riptide Movement and loads more for CEOL 2016 with Eoghan McDermott.

CEOL 2016 with Eoghan McDermott launched yesterday, Tuesday 22nd December at 5.30pm on Eoghan McDemott's Show on RT 2fm. It is an inspirational album as Gaeilge with songs from some of the biggest musicians in the world.

The album will be distributed to all schools and to third level students from January 2016. It can also be downloaded from Conradh na Gaeilge's website with a unique code (go to Conradh na Gaeilge's facebook page for more info on how to win a code).

Eoghan McDermott, RT 2fm said: Getting Ed Sheeran to record a bespoke version of one of the biggest songs in the world is incredible the fact he is singing as Gaeilge makes it all the better! Ed and the host of other incredible musicians on our CD shows that the use of the Irish language is being revolutionised at the moment, particularly in music. This album shows that anyone can speak as Gaeilge and that we should all give it a go.

Julian de Sp inn, Conradh na Gaeilge said: We are absolutely delighted that so many brilliant musicians as well as RT 2fm and Eoghan McDermott worked with us on the CD. The album will have a hugely positive influence on the outlook and image of the language, among young people in particular.

Conradh na Gaeilge and Raidi R -R compiled the album in conjunction with RT 2fm. The album has Irish language translations of some of Ireland's and the wider world's most recognised songs. CEOL 2016 with Eoghan McDermott is part of a series of albums compiled by Conradh na Gaeilge and Raidi R -R over the past 10 years.
