Broadcast Solutions has acquired German systems integrator Thum Mahr.

Co-founders Peter Thum and Hanno Mahr will become advisors to the company, which will remain in Monheim an Rhein and operate as an independent subsidiary of its new parent company.

Stefan Mertens, who has also been managing director of Thum Mahr since 2004, will move to the role of COO, while Stefan Breder, CEO of the Broadcast Solutions Group, will act as CEO of Thum Mahr.

With Thum Mahr, we welcome an experienced team under the umbrella of Broadcast Solutions; this has many advantages, said Breder. The fields of activity of both companies complement each other perfectly. Thus, we can jointly push our activities in the German-speaking region and the international field.

Financial details of the deal have not been revealed.

Thum Mahr worked with the BBC Wales on the development of its new HQ in Central Square, Cardiff. The company worked with the broadcaster on the implementation of a new DHD Audio system.
