
The European Digital Forum examines the challenges of content and its distribution in a new environment La segunda sesi n del Forum Digital Europeo que se ha celebrado los d as 15 y 16 de junio en Lucca, ha servido para mirar al futuro y anticipar c mo la banda ancha, con especial atenci n al despegue del 5G, podr cambiar las formas de consumo de media.
Abed Laraqui (EuroData Tv) ha abierto la segunda jornada del Forum Digital Europeo, que se celebra esta semana en Lucca (Italia), organizado por Comunicare Digitale con Panorama Audiovisual como media partner, planteando la cuesti n de los nuevos par metros de visionado y los cambios que se est n viviendo en el consumo de v deo, las estrategias digitales y la m trica multipantalla.
Laraqui ha destacado que aunque el consumo de televisi n se mantiene estable en los dos ltimos a os, contin a el descenso en las capas m s j venes. Por otro lado, ha analizado las diferentes formas de consumo lineal y bajo demanda en diferentes pa ses. Podemos encontrar diferencias importantes entre diferentes pa ses. Mientras que Francia, por ejemplo, 1 de cada 5 personas ha consumido contenidos online en 2016, en Holanda esta cifra se eleva a 1 de cada 2, siendo ficci n, entretenimiento y actualidad lo m s demandado.
Laraqui ha se alado que el ordenador es la pantalla preferida para seguir contenido online, la audiencia en l nea de programas de televisi n es m s joven y son precisamente los reality shows y las series el principal activo consumido en un entorno online.
El primer panel de expertos en esta segunda jornada del Foro de Lucca ha estado compuesto por Alberto Sigismondi (Tivu), Luigi Filippo Ecuba (Eurosport), Valeria Quattrini (Rakuten Wuaki), Mattia Cavanna (Sony Pictures), Alessandro Giglio (Giglio Group), Carlo Romero (RTV San Marino) y Eugenio La Teana (RTL 102.5) quienes han conversado sobre el despegue del 4K, el impacto que tiene la pirater a sobre las nuevas formas de distribuci n online, c mo plataformas como Netflix est n condicionando las estrategias de producci n y c mo ha cambiado la forma en la que se adquieren contenidos. Tambi n ha sido interesante analizar el fen meno de la radiovisione que propone la emisora italiana RTL 102.5 con un concepto de radio con distribuci n de audio y v deo multiplataforma y multidispositivo.
Marco legal europeo
Para abordar el marco legal europeo en relaci n a los nuevos entornos audiovisuales, Maja Cappelo (European Audiovision Observatory del Consejo de Europa) ha centrado su intervenci n en directo desde Estrasburgo en el impacto de la amenaza que supone la pirater a y la necesidad de garantizar la accesibilidad. La Comisi n Europea trabaja en este momento en el desarrollo de la nueva Directiva que establecer el marco jur dico en la nueva era digital y establecer pautas con respecto a simplicar las normas que determinan qu pa s tiene jurisdicci n sobre un proveedor, desregularizar las comunicaciones comerciales, proteger al menor, prohibir contenidos que inciten al odio, racismo y xenofobia. En cuanto a la accesibilidad, la nueva Directiva pretende suprimir las disposiciones sobre accesibilidad en referencia a la propuesta de un acta europea de accesibilidad que establece requisitos para una gran variedad de productos y servicios, incluidos los servicios de comunicaci n audiovisual.
Paola Nebbia (Sherman & Sterling) ha reflexionado sobre Internet y las nuevas forma de consumo de contenidos audiovisuales con respecto a la criticidad competitiva llamando la atenci n sobre c mo se est n difuminando las fronteras entre telcos, productores de contenidos y distribuidores. A su entender, hay que asegurar el acceso a contenidos, canales y servicios; determinar el impacto del e-commerce y reforzar el marco jur dico en un nuevo modelo de distribuci n.
La televisi n ol mpica
Federico de Mojana di Cologna (Olympic Channel) ha hecho balance en Lucca de la actividad del canal del Comit Ol mpico Internacional que cumple ahora un a o. De Mojana que ha calificado al canal como el Netflix de los contenidos deportivos ha se alado que esta iniciativa ha nacido con intenci n de inspirar a las nuevas generaciones de atletas y aficionados. El Canal Ol mpico, producido por el COI en colaboraci n con OBS desde Madrid, est disponible a nivel mundial a trav s de acuerdos con broadcasters lineales (este verano NBC inicia su emisi n en Estados Unidos), m vil (Android e iOS) y v deo 360. Adem s, los espectadores pueden seguir sus contenidos a trav s de los social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter y YouTube) o registrarse para recibir actualizaciones del Canal Ol mpico a trav s de su web.
Esta plataforma gratuita cuenta con una programaci n original, con emisiones en directo, noticias y res menes de la actividad ol mpica a lo largo de todo el a o. La producci n propia del Canal Ol mpico incluye contenidos de corta y larga duraci n centrados en los atletas de lite, su b squeda del xito y el deporte en todo el mundo. Dise ada para una audiencia global, la plataforma se ofrece en ingl s con subt tulos en nueve idiomas diferentes.
Los directivos e RAI Gino Alberico y Alberto Morello han conversado sobre el impacto del desarrollo del 5G y del nacimiento de un nuevo concepto de green broadcasting . Ambos ejecutivos han dado a conocer el Proyecto 5GCity en el que participan 18 partners de siete pa ses bajo la coordinaci n de i2Cat y que trata de poner en marcha una plataforma com n abierta y multi-tenant que extienda las funciones del cloud dise ando y creando, en condiciones operativas una nube distribuida.
