VMware Horizon View Given Target Platform' Status By Major Electronic Medical Records Vendor First Among Virtual Desktop Providers Clinical Virtual Desktop Service Using VMware AlwaysOn Point of Care Offers High Availability, Strong Security and Greater Mobility PALO ALTO, Calif., May 8, 2013 VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, today announced that Epic has given Target Platform status to VMware Horizon View for electronic medical records (EMR) delivery through a virtual clinical desktop. VMware is the first VDI solution provider to receive this status by passing a wide range of usability, performance and scalability tests. The end result is a validated implementation solution that can significantly improve clinical desktop availability, security and mobility while assisting provider organizations with industry compliance requirements.

Supporting these devices in-person becomes a logistical burden that involves high operational expenses.
