Broadcast Pix Slate Trade-In Program Offers Discounts on New Mica, Granite Integrated Production Switchers

Broadcast Pix today announced a special Slate trade-in program that offers incentives for customers to upgrade to native HD Mica or Granite integrated production switchers. The program ends June 30.

Customers who trade in any Slate will save $2,500 off the purchase of a new Mica integrated production switcher, plus receive a free camera option and an additional year of warranty. Customers who move up to a Granite large-scale integrated production switcher save $3,500 - or $4,000 for a Granite X system - plus receive the remote camera control option and extended warranty. For Slate systems purchased after Jan. 1, 2012, upgrading customers will receive an additional $500 trade-in credit, plus three additional key layers (for a total of six) for Mica systems.

This is a great opportunity for our Slate customers to make the move to native HD production, said Steve Ellis, general manager, Broadcast Pix. Our Mica and Granite systems deliver better images and more versatile features than our legacy Slate systems.

The 1 M/E Mica features eight SDI inputs and an additional SDI input for a key source, plus six SDI and two DVI outputs. Granite includes 11 SDI inputs (expandable to 22) with six key layers for compositing, plus six SDI outputs (expandable to 12) and two DVI outputs. For large-scale live productions, the 2 M/E Granite X provides 22 SDI inputs and 12 outputs, plus a quad monitor customizable multi-view with 16 full-motion windows.

All Mica and Granite systems include seven channels for clips and graphics, as well as the ability to include cloud-based content in live productions while maintaining constant lip sync. Fluent workflow software included with each system features a built-in Inscriber CG, clip server, file-based macros, ClearKey next generation chromakey, customizable virtual sets and external device control.
