Spanish TV stations broadcasting Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have installed VSNMulticom in their facilities for continuity automation and VSNCreaTV for advanced programming and planning.
VSNMulticom manages the playout server, requesting the media files that need to be broadcast from the MAM solution, controlling the whole broadcast operation, and managing the archive systems. VSNCreaTV is responsible for managing planning and programming and, thus, is key for maximizing both channel efficiency and optimization of resources.
The VSNSpider technological backend platform was also installed to orchestrate all the workflows that take place within Bar a TV and Real Madrid TV, allowing the system to reach millions of fans around the world, with the assurance that technology will be on their side when on-air.
Porto Canal, the official TV channel for Portuguese sports club FC Porto has selected VSN for implementation of an end-to-end scheme and full operation of the channel. VSNExplorer media-management suite is the heart of the project for archive, production, and workflow orchestration. In addition to VSNMulticom and VSNCreaTV, Porto Canal also deploys the VSNLivecom studio playout solution and VSNAutorec and VSNCapturer for ingest operations. This complete system transformed Porto Canal into a fully managed and automated HD TV channel.
VSN's portfolio includes various products to enhance sports audiovisual projects. Among them is VSNLiveLogger sports-production software for cataloguing media in real time, which allows the operator to quickly add timecode-referenced metadata to a video file while it is being ingested. It eases the operation via metadata templates with the names of the players or participants and the most common actions or activities. Catalogers can identify the best plays, which can be sent to broadcast immediately segmented or archived. The software has been designed with the purpose of achieving the most agile operation possible in a live-production environment.
Given sports broadcasting's dependence on live production, VSN's VSNMulticom playout-automation software and continuity system, with more than 20 years' field-proven experience, is a leading option for a reliable and robust broadcast.
The VSNExplorer family comprises VSNExplorer PAM, focused on production and postproduction; VSNExplorer MAM, with all the necessary tools for the complete management of the media lifecycle, such as advanced cataloguing; VSNExplorer BPM, which adds an orchestration layer for defining business-process-management workflows; VSNExplorer BI, advanced Business Intelligence layer; and Wedit, a web-based video editor designed for putting together news and sports productions in seconds. Wedit allows cut editing in low-resolution, generates editing lists from segments, performs frame-accurate mark in and out, and adds voiceover.
