Sky Sports will bring viewers some of the biggest names in cricket during its coverage of the ICC Cricket World Cup, including Jacques Kallis and V.V.S.Laxman.
To give fans wall to wall cricket programming throughout the six week tournament, Sky Sports 2 will become Sky Sports World Cup'. In addition to exclusively live coverage of the tournament, the dedicated channel will offer highlights throughout the day for fans to catch up on all of the action overnight.
The opening night in the studio starts at 8pm for a two hour preview show before Sri Lanka and New Zealand, when Ian Ward will be joined by Nasser Hussain and Michael Vaughan, as well as talking to Shane Warne in Melbourne. For the second match of the night, when England take on Australia, David Gower will be alongside Jason Gillespie and Andrew Strauss.
The channel launches at 6am on Friday 13th February with a series of World Cup classics with many more to come throughout the six weeks, before three time World Cup winner, Adam Gilchrist, shares his World Cup memories and the methods that made him so successful.
Bryan Henderson, Sky Sports executive producer cricket, said: We've got a fantastic line up for fans from the first to the last day of the tournament on our dedicated Sky Sports World Cup channel. As well as every minute of action, some of the world's top former players will be joining our studio team to share their views and for those that can't catch it live, we'll have plenty of highlights on the channel the next day, as well as news and analysis across our digital platforms.
The schedule of coverage across all platforms will feature:
Previews and live coverage: For 10pm matches, the studio team will be on-air at 9pm for build-up, joined by guests including Jason Gillespie, Michael Vaughan, Jimmy Adams, Jacques Kallis and from the knockout stages, V.V.S. Laxman and many more.
The Verdict: After every England match and throughout the knockout stages, Charles Colvile or Ian Ward will host the Verdict show, analysing and debating the performances. Guests will include the likes of Bob Willis, Mark Butcher, Nick Compton, as well as Kallis and Laxman.
Highlights: For those that can't stay up to watch the action live, or for those that just want to re-live it, the schedule offers plenty of highlights across the channel.
Digital: Fans can keep up to date with the latest news, reaction and views of the Sky Sports cricket team across all digital platforms, including a dedicated World Cup section on skysports.com. Sky Sports subscribers will also be able to access extended daily highlights.
Fans will be able to watch live on mobile, laptop and selected tablet devices via Sky Go wherever they are and follow live over-by-over commentary and scorecards of every match. Live commentary in Australia and New Zealand will be provided by Sir Ian Botham, Mike Atherton, David Bumble' Lloyd, Nasser Hussain and Nick Knight. Where live matches crossover, action will continue on the Red Button so fans don't miss a ball.
Non-subscribers can also catch all of the World Cup without a contract through online TV streaming service NOW TV. Enjoy access to all seven Sky Sports channels by purchasing a Sky Sports Day Pass for £6.99 or Sky Sports Week Pass for £10.99. Watch the matches on TV with a NOW TV Box, via the web or on a range of devices.
To share their views, fans can use @SkyCricket and get involved with the hashtag #fireitup.
