GoPro Mountain Games Is On and Underway

Dust off those trail shoes, prep the paddles, gather the fam and don't forget the pup. The 2019 GoPro Mountain Games are officially underway.

For the 7th year in a row, GoPro is returning as the title sponsor of the GoPro Mountain Games, an epic outdoor festival put on by Vail Valley Foundation June 6-9 in Vail, CO. It's the only competitive mountain experience where you can see Average Joes compete alongside decorated pros with a side of insanely talented dogs vying for top Dock Dogs titles.

For 2019, some of GoPro's top athletes are filling out rosters and hosting events across the mountain, including Kai Lenny, Chuck Patterson, Sasha DiGiulian, Brian Lopes, and an all-star lineup of kayaking legends Dane Jackson, Emily Jackson, Aniol Serrasolses, Gerd Serrasolses, Rafa Ortiz and Nick Troutman.

In true GoPro Mountain Game form, these athletes will take over the rivers and trails of Vail throughout the weekend and many will go outside their expertise, taking on mountain bike, running and perhaps even the pinnacle of events-the GMC Ultimate Mountain Challenge, which spans four days and features six events across fishing, running, biking, kayaking, rafting and SUPing. Spectating mountaineers and adventurers of all ages will surely see and experience more than they bargain for.

Throughout the event, GoPro will be onsite sharing the magic of HERO7 Black, the most advanced GoPro yet. It features built-in HyperSmooth image stabilization, which delivers insanely smooth, gimbal-like video in up to 4K resolution. The $399 GoPro also features TimeWarp and SuperPhoto modes, live streaming, improved audio and an intuitive new user-interface.

GoPro will have two booths set up in Vail Village-one in Solaris Plaza's L.L. Bean Gear Town and a second in Lionshead's Go RVing Dog Town. Families, furry friends and festival goers can stop by starting at 11 a.m Thursday. and 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday to get hands on with HERO7 Black, chat with GoPro experts and sign up for the daily 3 p.m. GoPro Giveaway.
