Introducing the new D1 & B2

It's already been a big year for Korg keyboard launches - and now they have also refreshed their range of digital pianos. The fully weighted - but portable - D1 stage piano (above) still features Korg's top of the range RH3 hammer action and 30 sounds, including acoustic and electric pianos, organ, clavi and string tones, but is now available in a white finish. It will ship with a pedal and music rest and will cost £570$629.99 when it's available later in the Summer. An optional aluminium stand, the STV1NK, retails for £83$99.

Intended for home and studio applications, the new B2 and B2SP pianos should be available by the end of July, and incorporate Korg's Natural Hammer weighted action, while the third member of the range, the B2N, has a lighter action for easier portability. All three include acoustic and electric piano, organ and string sounds, and include a music rest and pedal; the B2 (above) and B2N offer a single piano-type sustain pedal while the B2SP includes a stand and three pedal system. The B2N is available in black for £329$399.99, the B2 and B2SP are both available in black and white for £360$499.99 and £500$599.99 respectively.

Not to be left out, Korg's synth division has also announced v2 software updates for the popular Minilogue and Monologue, which add microtuning features similar to those on the Minilogue XD, and original value' options which show the last stored values for a given parameter so you don't lose your way when editing. The free update also adds the new motion view from the Minilogue XD to the Minilogue's sequencer, and allows more direct access to the parameters associated with each step when editing in step-time on the Monologue's sequencer by holding down the Shift key and tapping the required step.
