Winners revealed at 20th National Television Awards

The biggest names in TV descended on London's O2 tonight (21st January 2015) as the National Television Awards celebrated it's 20th anniversary in spectacular style. The glittering ceremony saw Eastenders steal the show, winning three gongs at the UK's biggest television awards show. Voted for entirely by the British public and hosted by Dermot O'Leary, the National Television Awards aired LIVE on ITV.

Opening the show was Brendan O'Carroll, better known to many as Mrs Brown of Mrs Brown's Boys. The performance saw Mrs Brown do everything in her power to overthrow NTA host Dermot O'Leary in a bid to present the awards herself. But try as she might, it simply wasn't enough to get rid of our host with the most, who went on to present the star-studded ceremony.

This year's Landmark Award went to Comic Relief, which celebrates 30 years in 2015. Lenny Henry, a Trustee of the charity, took to the stage to accept the prestigious award, presented by Davina McCall.

The sad news of Anne Kirkbride's passing was marked this evening, with a moving tribute from on-screen husband Bill Roache, which lead to a minute of rapturous applausethroughout the O2. Anne's closest Corrie colleagues were in attendance to mark her life and remarkable career.

In one of three brand new awards for 2015, the tables were turned in the TV Judge category as the viewers took to the judging panel. Rivalry was fierce, as Star Maker Cowell took on Star Baker Berry! In a TV first, the award was presented by Gogglebox's Tapper Family via live link, direct from their living room sofa! It was David Walliams who was first to scoop the coveted prize for Britain's Got Talent.

EastEnders set tongues wagging throughout the O2 as a major clue in the Who Killed Lucy' mystery was revealed. Viewers will find out who the killer is next month as EastEnders celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Flying in from sunny LA especially for the NTAs, Kris Jenner took to the stage to present the new Multichannel award, which saw fantasy take on reality! The coveted prize went to Celebrity Juice.

The Special Recognition Award was the best-kept secret of the ceremony and it was up to the winner to work out for themselves that they'd be receiving the prestigious prize! Pixie Lott treated viewers to a stunning rendition of I Would Walk 500 Miles, the winner's favourite song, with a surprise appearance from The Proclaimers. A shocked David Tennant was presented with the award.

The muchsought after Serial Drama prize ended the evening with Eastenders scooping the award, fighting off long standing rivals, Coronation Street.
