In late October 2013, KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will improve their next-generation high-speed 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) communication services, by providing high-speed data communications at a maximum downlink speed of 150 Mbps [1]. After launching the service in some areas of Chiba prefecture, availability will be gradually expanded across Japan.

The maximum communication speed may vary depending on the region or device that is used. In addition, the listed communication speed is not the actual communication speed, but the maximum value based on the technical standards. The actual speed may fall short of the maximum for various reasons, including the customers communication environment and traffic conditions. The maximum uplink speed is 12 Mbps.
