Cro-border e-commerce brisk in Ningbo

As one of the first pilot cities, Ningbo has launched the campaign of developing cross-border e-commerce to expand consumption, promote foreign trade transformation, and build the new engine and force for economic upgrading.

With the rapid development of the cross-border e-commerce, Ningbo has formed a multi-aspect e-commerce industrial cluster pattern with Ningbo Bonded Zone as the main body and the Lishe Bonded Logistics Center, Lishe Airport Logistics Park, Haishu Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park and Jiangbei Branch of Ningbo E-commerce City as the supporting forces.

"Collaborative logistics is an innovation of Ningbo. The port and airport logistics in Ningbo has developed well in recent years, especially with the development of the dry port. With the drafting of the plan for the comprehensive cross-border e-commerce experimental zone, Ningbo will realize the logistics collaboration between the experimental zone and the dry port through the information platform, rapid logistics, quality monitoring and collaborative customs clearing." said Xiao Liang, Deputy-director of Modern Business and Trade Research Center of Zhejiang Gongshang University and Deputy-director of Zhejiang Modern Business and Trade Development Institute. "It is time to accelerate the docking between the comprehensive experimental zone and the public overseas warehouses, in the hope of promoting the communications of the information platforms and the visual process of the cross-border logistics and enhancing the collaborative operation between the comprehensive experimental zone and the public overseas warehouses."

Reportedly, Ningbo will further encourage the enterprises to expand the types of imports and establish the comprehensive product system covering infant products, food, cosmetics, health products, electronic products and light luxuries. Meanwhile, the businesses will be encouraged to transform from information platforms to online transaction platforms and to establish the pilot and demonstration in the cross-border e-commerce field. Such major industrial fields as raw materials, equipment manufacturing, consumers' goods and electronic information will have a deeper implementation of cross-border e-commerce, and expand the types of exports.
