Sky Sports has announced a packed autumn of boxing with the much anticipated re-arranged world heavyweight title clash between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury now confirmed as a live Sky Sports Box Office event on Saturday 28 November.
The ESPRIT arena in Dusseldorf remains the backdrop for a huge night in British heavyweight boxing after Klitschko had to postpone the fight due to a calf injury. Long-reigning heavyweight king, Klitschko, will defend his world titles against Fury, unbeaten in 24 fights.
The schedule includes six world title fights across six huge nights of live boxing in just over seven weeks:
15 October, Selby v Montiel, Alexander v Martinez - Wales' Lightning' Lee Selby travels to the USA to make the first defence of the IBF featherweight title that he won in May, live on Sky Sports 1
17 October, Cleverly v Fonfara, Eggington / Macklin / Yafai - Nathan Cleverly travels stateside for his crunch clash with American-based Pole Andrzej Fonfara in Chicago. Sam Eggington tops a huge bill in Birmingham, both live on Sky Sports 1
24 October, Brook v Chaves, Eubank Jnr v Jeter, McDonnell v Parodi - Kell Brook looks for his 36th straight win, defending his IBF welterweight title for the third time in front of a passionate home crowd at the Sheffield Arena. Chris Eubank Jnr follows in the footsteps of his legendary father making his Sky debut against American Tony Jeter. The full fight night is live on Sky Sports 1
7 November, Smith v Fielding, Cardle v Dodd - Merseyside's two world ranked super-middleweights collide for the vacant British title in what promises to be one of the domestic clashes of the year, live on Sky Sports 1
21 November, Perez v Crolla, Abraham v Murray - Manchester's new hero Anthony Crolla gets an immediate rematch against Darleys Perez, and world super-middleweight champion, Arthur Abraham, defends his title in Germany against former world title challenger, Martin Murray, live on Sky Sports 1
28 November, Klitschko v Fury, DeGale v Bute -The autumn's finale sees Klitschko v Fury from Dusseldorf, live on Sky Sports Box Office. Plus James DeGale MBE defends his world title in Canada against Lucian Bute on Sky Sports 1
Adam Smith, Executive Producer of Sky Sports boxing, said: I have been with Sky for over 20 years and this is our biggest ever autumn of boxing, it's a fantastic schedule. Fans have had to wait a bit longer for the world heavyweight clash, but if their recent press conference is anything to go by, Klitschko v Fury promises to be a must-see fight.
Before we head to Dusseldorf at the end of November, there are five huge live fight nights. Sheffield on 24 October has a brilliant line up, with Kell Brook against Diego Chaves and Chris Eubank Jnr's first Sky Sports fight against Tony Jeter. There's also an exciting rematch between Crolla and Perez in November, as well as a fascinating super-middleweight clash, Abraham v Murray. The next few months are set to be massive for boxing fans. We can't wait!
Preview and analysis of all of this and the heavyweight contest of the year will be provided by Adam Smith, and former world champions Johnny Nelson, Carl Froch, Jim Watt and Glenn McCrory, as well as a range of boxing experts. On top of the extensive live schedule, Sky Sports viewers can look forward to a range of support programming, with preview shows, providing the best possible analysis of the fights across our channels and digital outlet including Ringside.
Also, new for this autumn is a dedicated fighters section within the boxing On Demand content featuring recent and classic fights from over 20 boxers. Fans can relive their favourite fights including Froch v Groves I and II, Mayweather v Hatton, Khan v Maidana, plus all of Anthony Joshua's current fights and many more.
