The latest figures from the Television Audience Measurement (TAM) by the Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) reveal that Gqeberha: The Empire is still trailing behind Umkhokha: The Curse.

GQEBERHA: THE EMPIRE' MAINTAINS SECOND PLACE BRCSA figures also reveal that the Mzansi Magic's telenovela Qgeberha: The Empire secured second place with 829 000 viewers, while Umkhokha: The Curse remains the most-watched TV show on DStv with 896 000 viewers in November.

TVSA reports that the isiXhosa telenovela scored 914 000 viewers while Umkhokha scored 1 million viewers in October.

In the current storyline, leading actor Mbulelo Grootboom's character Luzuko Mxenge got killed by his second wife Zimkhikha (played by Zandile Msutswana).

The Eastern Cape-based telenovela also introduced award-winning actor Bongile Mantsai as Luzuko's brother, Hlumelo Mxenge in November.
