Grass Valley Outfits MESH Broadcast Services Mobile TV Truck with an Integrated Video and Audio Processing Solution
Using Grass Valley switchers, multiviewers, routers and infrastructure, the new truck will broadcast sports, music festivals, awards shows, corporate events and more
MONTREAL, January 23, 2018 To build a strong reputation from the start, MESH Broadcast Services needed exceptional equipment for its new TV truck, Eclipse. Knowing that MESH Broadcasts customers would recognize Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, as the industry leader when it comes to video and audio processing, the mobile production company chose to establish the truck around a proven routing and switching core with the Karrera K-Frame Video Production Center, Densit 3 Frame, Kaleido-Modular-X Multiviewer, NVISION 8140 Hybrid Router and NV9000 Control System.

The full range of Grass Valley solutions is flexible and scalable so it works for MESH Broadcast Services now, and will continue to work as the company grows. The Karrera K-Frame S-series offers multiformat support including 1080p, 4K UHD and a full range of features in a compact 6 RU video frame, with up to 6 M/Es, 80 inputs and 48 outputs for efficient processing in fast-paced live event productions. Similarly, the 3 RU Densit 3 Frame can simultaneously process 3G/HD/SD and analog video, as well as AES and analog audio. For safe use in small areas packed with equipment, Densit s front-opening frame features dual hot-swappable power supplies and fans, front panel multicolor LEDs to provide status reporting, and a controller card allowing card adjustments from the front panel. The Kaleido-Modular-X is a flexible and scalable 4K- and IP-ready multiviewer that plugs into the Densit 3 Frame to provide a wide range of input/output configurations.
The NVISION 8140 offers the advanced features of an enterprise class router, such as redundant power supplies, control cards and crosspoints, in a single 8 RU chassis that is ideal for the space constraints of mobile production and smaller studios. The NV9000 router control system features a range of highly adapted panels for superior control and adaptability for different workflows, including informative and easy to use LCD panels, multi-destination panels, multimode button per source panels, destination/source (XY) panels, and the powerful RCP-200 smart panel.
There are a lot of considerations when it comes to mobile production. There is limited space, specific requirements for cooling, and the quality of the production and broadcasting itself, said Kyle Luther, vice president sales, West Coast and Canada, Grass Valley. MESH Broadcasts system of Grass Valley solutions is streamlined and efficient, allowing broadcasters to easily produce high-quality content with Eclipse.
