Deen TV on OpenView HD comes to an end in September --

The four year partnership between Deen TV and OpenView HD is set to come to an

end on 30 September 2017, after which the channel will no longer form part of the

free-to-view satellite service s bouquet.

The decision to discontinue our relationship with Deen TV was made on the back of

scheduled commercial discussions between the two parties, says head of Platco,

Patrick Conroy. It s the nature of businesses such as ours that channels are

constantly reviewed, meaning that, from time to time, channels will be shuffled

depending on market and commercial criteria.

The OpenView HD bouquet continues to grow, thanks to the recent addition of BBC

World News and the introduction of eMovies Extra, as well as a second general

entertainment channel, eExtra. The platform is currently home to 17 channels, with

plans in the works to introduce additional channels, in the near future. OpenView HD

has grown its market share by 157% since March 2016, making it the country s

fastest-growing new TV platform, and is set to reach the 1 million customer mark in

the next few days.

Platco thanks Deen TV for being part of the OpenView HD journey since the platform s

inception in 2013 and wishes the channel well.
