Joensuu, Finland, January 2, 2014 - Blancco, the global leader in data erasure and computer reuse solutions, has announced that its flagship product for erasing data from smartphones and tablets has been provided to the One Tablet Per Child program (OTPC), Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) and Ministry of Education (MOE), Thailand.

The T V-approved Blancco Mobile solution is already used by many mobile operators and organizations to eliminate the risk of costly data breaches and comply with standards and regulations pertaining to data privacy.

The aim of the OTPC program is to reduce the social gap of education inequality and increase literacy by analyzing students' performance data recorded in the tablet. For protecting children's data on tablets, Blancco Mobile is a crucial solution. Not only government and education, but corporations in Thailand should erase data on mobile devices upon device disposal or replacement timing, says Group Captain Anudith Nakornthap, Minister of Information and Communication Technology.

Beginning in 2014, Blancco Mobile will erase personal data on OTPC tablets for elementary, junior high and senior high students throughout Thailand when tablets require repair, replacement or disposal. This program covers 850,000 tablets that were already distributed, plus another 1.7 million tablets scheduled for distribution in 2014.

Blancco Mobile is designed to securely erase a smartphone's internal and external memory. Restoring factory settings does not ensure that data is permanently destroyed because data can still be recovered afterwards. Blancco Mobile permanently erases all user data such as emails, contacts and text messages, facilitating the safe reuse or resale of a tablet or smartphone.
