Free Your Mind invests nearly half a million euros in its technological renewal El estudio ampl a su rea de negocio de postproducci n publicitaria incorproando un Flame 2014, y tres Smoke Advanced 2014. En el rea de color se suma un segundo Mistika destinado a publicidad que viene a reforzar la sala principal de color dedicada exclusivamente al cine.
Han pasado ya dos a os desde que Free Your Mind acometiera su primera fase de inversi n para dar servicios de postproducci n en publicidad y cine en su sede de casi 600 metros cuadrados junto al Palacio de Liria en Madrid. En estos primeros momentos se incorporaron la tecnolog a y el talento necesarios para poder cubrir las necesidades de un mercado en plena transformaci n.
Ahora, el estudio inicia 2014con una ampliaci n de sus medios t cnicos que ha supuesto una inversi n de cerca de medio mill n de euros, una apuesta tecnol gica y financiera que busca posicionarse como una referencia en su sector.
Miguel Gonz lez, socio y responsable del rea de publicidad, ha asegurado que vivimos un periodo de cambios profundos en el sector, donde las macro-estructuras que tan buenos resultados hab an dado en los a os de bonanza, han visto como su negocio se contra a o se esfumaba. En ese contexto, pensamos desde el principio que exist a una excelente oportunidad para cubrir ese vac o con una propuesta diferente, en la que se pudiera dar servicio tanto a productoras como a agencias y anunciantes, con las mismas dotaciones que un gran estudio, pero sin perder la proximidad al cliente y el compromiso con cada uno de los proyectos .
Con esta segunda fase de inversiones, Free Your Mind ampl a su rea de negocio de postproducci n publicitaria pasando a contar con un Flame 2014, y tres Smoke Advanced 2014 de Autodesk. En el rea de color se suma un segundo Mistika de SGO destinado a publicidad que viene a reforzar la sala principal de color existente que queda dedicada exclusivamente al cine.
El cine es otra de las reas de negocio importantes para Free Your Mind que tambi n ha sido objeto de mejoras con la ampliaci n de su sistema de trabajo compartido sustentado sobre la base de un servidor SAN y que facilita enormemente el trabajo con grandes vol menes de archivo.
Laboratorio digital
Eduardo Jim nez, socio fundador y responsable del rea de cine en Free Your Mind, sostiene que la desaparici n del negativo y la consiguiente explosi n del digital se ha terminado de afianzar en 2013. El cambio de modelo ha sido incluso m s acentuado en el cine que en la publicidad. Hasta hace muy poco, laboratorios internacionales manten an su presencia en Espa a sobre la base de las copias en 35mm, pero ese negocio est desapareciendo al mismo ritmo que las salas de cine se digitalizan. Se trata de un punto de no retorno en el que se ha pasado del laboratorio de cine al laboratorio digital lo que nos est permitiendo abordar proyectos desde el DIT en rodaje, pasando por el montaje, los efectos o el conformado, hasta llegar al master y copias digitales de explotaci n en DCP .
En el mbito creativo, 2013 ha sido un a o intenso con campa as premiada en varios festivales (They know it de Calvo) o pel culas como The witches of Zugarramurdi de Alex de la Iglesia, por la que el estudio ha recibido la nominaci n al Goya de este a o por los mejores efectos.
El nuevo a o tambi n se presenta interesante ya que, seg n Miguel Gonz lez, en breve se podr ver la nueva campa a de Verti, fruto de nuestra primera colaboraci n con la agencia B rbara & Co para un cliente que en estos a os ha conseguido hacerse un hueco entre las campa as m s recordadas . En lo que respecta al cine, Eduardo Jim nez destaca que ya hemos empezado a trabajar en Stream V, un proyecto repleto de escenas espectaculares que se estrenar a lo largo del a o y que sin duda volver a ser una de las pel culas a tener en cuenta en el box office espa ol .
