
Rohde&Schwarz plantea en BIT Experience soluciones para contribuci n profesional AV sobre redes p blicas IP Germ n Mart n, project engineer de Rohde&Schwarz Espa a, ha abordado en un workshop en BIT Experience 2017 las posibilidades que brindan las redes IP p blicas para la contribuci n profesional de AV en entornos broadcast bajo el protocolo propietario RelayCaster Streaming Protocol (RCSP).
Los m todos tradicionales de aportaci n en directo de contenidos audio-video, tales como las redes satelitales y de fibra dedicada, est n siendo desafiados por la aportaci n IP en redes no administradas.
Tras la adquisici n a trav s de su filial GMIT de la compa a tecnol gica alemana pionera en el campo de la transmisi n profesional a trav s de redes IP no gestionadas, Motama, Rohde & Schwarz pretende facilitar las contribuciones con RelayCaster, una familia de soluciones que promete agilizar y abaratar las contribuciones permitiendo al cliente pasar de una aportaci n y distribuci n de punto a punto a una de multi-punto a multipunto.
Con RelayCaster, la fiabilidad de aportar y distribuir contenido en directo a trav s de redes no gestionadas mejora significativamente, ya que los problemas de p rdidas de paquetes se resuelven de forma eficiente. A diferencia de alternativas como el sat lite o servicios CDN, RelayCaster no se limita a determinadas regiones o centros de datos. Permite la distribuci n de contenido a cualquier distancia, a cualquier lugar al que llegue la infraestructura de Internet. Con un cifrado opcional, las secuencias de datos estar n protegidas entre todos los emisores y receptores (AES).
C mo funciona
Internet es una red no administrada y sufre de p rdida de paquetes. Sin embargo, la p rdida de paquetes es un problema al transmitir contenido en directo. Esto es particularmente un problema, cuando se distribuyen streams en vivo a trav s de largas distancias de un pa s a otro pa s o entre continentes.
Cuando se usa el UDP para la distribuci n de contenido, la p rdida de paquetes da lugar inmediatamente a artefactos visuales o incluso interrupciones de varios segundos, simplemente porque UDP no es fiable.
En cuanto al TCP es un protocolo fiable. Por lo tanto, se utiliza como base para HTTP y todos los protocolos para over-The-Top (OTT) de transmisi n. Pero al usar TCP, la p rdida de paquetes reduce inmediatamente los anchos de banda y por lo tanto reduce la saturaci n de su enlace, simplemente debido al dise o inherente de TCP. Y esto empeora a n m s cuando se utiliza TCP en enlaces de larga distancia.
Cuando se transmite a los dispositivos cliente de los usuarios finales, el ABR (Adaptive Bitrate Streaming) ayuda a superar este problema cambiando a un flujo con menor velocidad de bits. Pero esto no ayuda, si lo que se desea es distribuir o contribuir contenido utilizando el bitrate original para mantener la m s alta calidad.
Como ha destacado Germ n Mart n, en contraposici n, los servidores RelayCaster emplean un protocolo propietario denominado RelayCaster Streaming Protocol (RCSP) que supera todos estos problemas. Este protocolo es completamente compatible con Internet y funciona con toda la infraestructura de red IP existente. El uso de RCSP como protocolo de transmisi n entre dos servidores RelayCaster permite la transmisi n optimizada de flujos de IPTV a sitios remotos. Los streams de AV recibidas en un lado se proporcionan de nuevo transparentemente en el otro lado.
En todos los centros de datos, los flujos recibidos por RelayCaster se env an a los servidores de transmisi n en tiempo real (OTT) que proporcionan flujos a los dispositivos de los usuarios finales de forma cercana (en t rminos de distancia a Internet). A este fin, RelayCaster ayuda a empujar los flujos cerca de los usuarios finales.
Por ltimo, se alar que este esquema puede escalarse creando una propia red de distribuci n de contenido (CDN) de servidores RelayCaster. De esta forma, los flujos de IPTV de un centro de datos central se distribuyen de nuevo a varios centros de datos intermedios y terminales que est n distribuidos por todo el mundo.
