Haishu District to be built as CED

With the new-style urban economic development driven by e-commerce, Haishu District is transforming from the traditional CBD to the modern CED. In the first half of this year, 27 large-scale enterprises in the district achieved a total online sales volume of 2.342 billion yuan, up by 125.1% over the same period of last year. The proportion of the added value of modern services among the tertiary industry has maintained over 70% over the past few years.

CED is short for Central Electronic District. In recent years, noticing the constraints of the space resources and the traditional industries, Haishu District has focused on e-commerce to promote the development of such modern services industries as e-commerce economy, information service and internet finance and thus build the new ecology of the core CED in Ningbo.

In the first half of this year, Haishu District was selected as the provincial e-commerce demonstration zone and the provincial industrial cluster cross-border e-commerce pilot zone. Since the beginning of this year, it has started the construction of the China (Ningbo) Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park and Ningbo (International) E-commerce Industrial Park. The former was completed and open to public at the end of June. And the business attraction work of the latter has been launched, and 99 e-commerce businesses have settled down in the park with a total registered capital of 2.494 billion yuan.

In addition, Haishu District has become the first optical-network urban district in Zhejiang Province and it has launched the first district-level open data platform in China. In May 2016, the Finance Town of Moon Lake area was inaugurated, and with its focus on the non-banking financial business based on the internet technology, it has attracted 40 fund enterprises, with the total registered capital of about three billion yuan.

With the promotion of e-commerce, the services industry of the Haishu District has formed a pattern featuring modern finance, modern business and trade, specialized services, and cultural creativity. So far, the added value of the modern services industry in Haishu District has been No.1 for the past consecutive years.
