Applications Being Accepted for 2024 WRAL Azalea Celebration

The 38th Annual WRAL Azalea Celebration is now accepting applications from non-profits for the 2024 plant giveaway. Sponsored by WRAL-TV, MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM, FOX 50, WRAL.com and NC Beautiful, the Azalea Celebration promotes environmental education, beautification and stewardship by awarding azalea plants to non-profits in North Carolina.

All applications must be postmarked or emailed by August 31, 2024.

Plants will be distributed to the winning organizations on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the WRAL transmitter site in Auburn, NC.

Each group can receive up to 50 azaleas. Three years from the date they receive the plants, the winning non-profits become eligible for the A.J. Fletcher Award. These awards are given annually to the top three groups that have shown the most innovation and care of the plants that they received.

Over the past 37 years, CBC program has awarded over 250,000 azaleas to more than 4,000 nonprofit organizations through the WRAL Azalea Celebration. Dozens of volunteers, along with staff members from CBC and Keep NC Beautiful help distribute the over 5,000 azaleas each year.
