International media technology suppliers' association pulls out all the stops
IABM will have a massive presence at NAB Show Las Vegas 2017, offering the hundreds of IABM member companies at the show a comprehensive range of support services alongside a raft of thought-leadership events to inform and drive the broadcast and media technology industry. IABM's offering for members at NAB Show 2017 includes:
State of the Industry conference - kicking off the show on Monday 24th April
IP Showcase partnership - with theater presentations driven by IABM
Three member lounges
Bookable meeting rooms
Game Changer Awards ceremony and reception on Tuesday 25th April
Advance party on Saturday 22nd April
IABM TV roving the show floor capturing the news
Executive panel session at Avid Connect Sunday 23rd April
Imaging update tutorial 22nd April, 9am, N262 - Andy Jones, IABM Head of Training
IP: are we ready for it - and it for us? 22nd April, 10.55am, N262 - Stan Moote, IABM CTO
State of the Industry conference
April 24th, 8am, N235. IABM's annual State of the Industry conference always sets the scene for the NAB Show. IABM CEO, Peter White, will present the latest industry research results - including the March 2017 Benchmark survey, which reports aggregated financial performance for the B&MT sector.
Two expert panels follow. The first, an executive overview of the industry, will feature contributions from: Todd Collart of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, Mary Kay Evans of Verizon Digital Media Services, Glodina Lostanlen of Imagine Communications, Ramki Sankaranarayanan of Prime Focus Technologies, and Neerav Shah of Grass Valley, a Belden Brand.
The second panel will focus on IP, with debate between Thomas Edwards of FOX, Ken Fuller of Globecast North America, Howard Lukk of SMPTE, Karl Paulsen of Diversified, and Dan Turk of NEP Mobile Unit Division. Del Parks of Sinclair Broadcast Group will then round off the conference with an update on repack and ATSC 3.0.
IP Showcase
IABM has been one of the driving forces behind delivering the IP Showcase feature at NAB show 2017. As well as providing a platform for 40+ vendors to demonstrate IP interoperability between 60+ products, the IP Showcase also has a theater at its heart, curated by IABM, and will be running a non-stop series of presentations covering the full gamut of knowledge for real-time IP production and intra-facility distribution.
Member Lounges
This year IABM has three member lounges - N4124, S215LMR and in the foyer of central hall, C2. These lounges provide much-needed business resources away from the bustle of the show floor; whether it's following up a lead from the show in a quiet corner of the lounge using free Wi-Fi, networking with other members or just taking a refreshment break, the lounges are always a very popular resource with IABM members.
Bookable Meeting Rooms
The North Hall member lounge (N4124) includes two meeting rooms which members can book in advance by the hour. As with other member lounge facilities, these are always in demand; IABM members should book early to avoid disappointment.
NAB Advance Party
This annual event takes place on Saturday 22nd April from 8pm at the Gordon Biersch Brewery on Paradise. The NAB Advance Party provides a superb networking opportunity in a fun and relaxing environment, with attendees drawn from IABM member companies, end-users and the trade press.
Game Changer Awards
The IABM Game Changer Awards are always one of the show highlights. Celebrating the innovation that drives our industry forward, and judged by a panel of 40 truly independent industry experts, both shortlisted companies and winners receive industry-wide recognition for their achievements. IABM will be announcing the shortlisted candidates within the next few days.
Avid Connect
The pre-show Avid Connect has grown into a key event at NAB Show with over 1200 attendees from 600+ companies expected to attend this year. IABM is hosting an executive panel at Avid Connect, which will feature a discussion with industry leaders on findings, trends and game changing strategies for the next three years. From cloud and enterprise licensing to engaging post-Millennials and unifying workflows to drive efficiencies, this session promises an interesting and informative debate on what is needed to fast-forward to the future.
We are always striving to offer our members all the support they need to help them make the very most of their investment in the NAB Show - and at many others around the world, said Peter White, IABM CEO. As well as providing a wide range of business-friendly facilities for members at the show, we are also very active in leading the debate on the future of our industry and delivering initiatives that move things forward constructively and decisively - as can be seen from the wide range of activities we are engaging in throughout the show. I wish all our members a rewarding and exciting NAB Show.
