Lodewicus Theodorus Louis Oosthuizen moved into a share of the 2019 US Masters lead with his lowest ever round at the Augusta Major on Friday.
Oosthuizen has been a prominent figure in South African golf for the last decade, winning the Open Championship in 2010 to become the seventh man from our country to win a major and mounting a handful of strong challenges for further glory.
A quirky character, Oosthuizen holds some major golfing records and is as South African as they come.
The ultimate bridesmaid Alongside his solitary Major win to date at St Andrews in 2010, Oosthuizen has finished as runner-up in all four majors, losing playoffs at the 2012 US Masters and 2015 Open Championship. 2015 was a rough year for Oosthuizen as he also finished tied second with Dustin Johnson at the US Open which was won by Jordan Spieth. Oosthuizen completed his set in 2017 at the 2017 PGA Championship held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is only the second man to achieve the feat
He bought a tractor when he won the Open After he claimed the coveted Claret Jug at the famous links of St Andrews, Oosthuizen treated himself to his dream vehicle, a John Deere tractor. Growing up near Mossel Bay, he always wanted his own tractor.

Oosthuizen bagged an albatross at the 2012 Masters On his way to losing in a sudden death playoff Oosthuizen made an early statement in his final round by creating a piece of Masters history with an albatross off the tee at the Par 4 second hole.
