At CES 2014, Samsung Unveils Smart Control', its Enhanced Remote Control for Smart TV on Jan 03, 2014 Includes gesture recognition for fast and accurate movement combined with an ergonomic design for more natural usability.

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., is releasing its new 2014 Samsung Smart Control, at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. The smart remote control includes faster and more accurate control features, easier content selection and a stunning design.

The 2014 Samsung Smart Control combines gesture-recognition, touch pad and a new button console to provide users with more accurate content selection and ultra responsive control.

When navigating the Samsung Smart Hub panels or accessing content listings spanning multiple pages, users can use the remote's touchpad to literally flip from page to page with a similar motion as to that of turning the pages of a book. Users can also easily access and select their favourite content using the intuitive four directional buttons.

The 2014 Smart Control also includes Voice Interaction functionality, enabling users to find Web or video content quickly and conveniently using natural language. Users can speak directly into the remote to navigate to their desired content.

Samsung has also evolved the Smart remote's design to a more ergonomic oval design that fits naturally and comfortably in the user's hand. A circular touch pad including the directional buttons is located on the centre of the remote, easily reachable with the user's thumb when gripping the device. This new ergonomic design minimizes the need for hand movements while encouraging users to use gesture and voice recognition capabilities to control their Smart TV.

The touchpad on the new remote is also over 80% smaller than its predecessor, and has been designed for easier use, including short-cuts to frequently used functions.

The 2014 Smart Control conveniently includes separate buttons for Multi-Link Screen', a function enabling users to watch multiple content simultaneously on a single screen, as well as Football Mode', which allows viewers to optimise viewing for sports programmes with the single press of a button.
