Sony Corporation made a big sports splash earlier this month when it acquired KinaTrax, Inc. ( KinaTrax ), a research-grade markerless motion capture technology for sports that collects in-game biomechanical performance data on athletes.
KinaTrax joins Hawk-Eye, Beyond Sports, and Pulselive to form the core foundation of Sony's sports businesses, placing the company at the fore of officiating, as well as live broadcast and digital media innovation.
Rufus Hack, CEO of Sony Sports joins SVG to discuss the impact of the acquisition and how the Sony Sports brand is positioning itself as a leader in live sports and bringing a new level of real-time data and storytelling tools for sports broadcast.
