Programmeren is de taal van de toekomst. Daarom heeft Ziggo in 2016, samen met CoderDojo en vele lokale partners, 10.000 kinderen kennis laten maken met programmeren. Tijd voor een feestje! Om deze bijzondere mijlpaal te vieren nodigen Ziggo en CoderDojo kinderen uit om hun ideale feestje' op de buitenkant van de Ziggo Dome te programmeren.
Of kinderen nu het liefst feest vieren in een bos vol dansende leeuwen, op een strand met ballonnen en cadeautjes of omringd door 10.000 juichende programmeerhelden; zij mogen het zeggen; het is hun feestje. Een speciale jury selecteert de tien meest originele feestjes. Deze zetten we op 24 november in de spotlights op de LED-wall van Ziggo Dome. De prijswinnaars mogen natuurlijk bij deze onthulling aanwezig zijn. Tijdens de Europese Codeweek, van 17 23 oktober, zijn de eerste kinderen gestart met de wedstrijd. De populaire YouTube-held Dylan Peys was erbij om ze aan te moedigen.
Over de Ziggo Dome
Leuk om te weten: in de Ziggo Dome treden wereldberoemde artiesten op. Adele, Justin Bieber, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyonce, Rihanna; allemaal gaven ze super shows in deze Amsterdamse muziektempel. De buitenkant van de Ziggo Dome is heel bijzonder; want deze bestaat uit maar liefst 840.000 led-lampen. Jongeren/kinderen tot en met 17 jaar die hun ontwerp op de gigantische LED-wall willen terugzien, kunnen tot 7 november meedoen aan de wedstrijd Programmeer de Ziggo Dome'. Meedoen? Talent van de toekomst
Ziggo en CoderDojo organiseren deze bijzondere wedstrijd om programmeren op speelse wijze bij de jeugd onder de aandacht te brengen. Volgens de Europese Commissie dreigt er in 2020 namelijk een tekort van 800.000 goed geschoolde programmeurs in heel Europa.
Marieke Dekker, Corporate Affairs Ziggo: Programmeren wordt steeds belangrijker. In een snel digitaliserende wereld is het goed om te weten hoe de technologie in je omgeving werkt en hoe je er zelf mee aan de slag kunt. Ziggo vindt het belangrijk om iedereen in Nederland de beste toegang te geven tot de digitale wereld. Door te leren programmeren ontwikkelen kinderen vaardigheden waar ze later in elk beroep en elke hobby profijt van hebben. Daarom investeren we nu in het talent van de toekomst.
