AJA Introduces Dolby Vision Support for 4K Mini-Converters at IBC2019 posted: 19/09/2019
Update to facilitate seamless, accurate monitoring of Dolby Vision signals and metadata from SDI equipment on cost-effective HDMI displays
AJA Video Systems announced at IBC 2019 that Dolby Vision support is expected to soon be available for its Hi5-4K-Plus and Hi5-12G Mini-Converters via an upcoming firmware release. The update will make it easier for creative professionals to achieve their artistic visions by enabling the conversion of Dolby Vision encoded HDR content on SDI to be converted to HDMI for PQ HDR monitoring on affordable HDMI displays.
As streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon continue to grow their subscriber bases, they're enticing audiences with high quality HDR programming created in PQ with Dolby Vision. Bringing Dolby Vision support to our Hi5-4K-Plus and Hi5-12G Mini-Converters will allow professionals to keep the quality of their HDR content in check throughout the creative process with more efficient and affordable monitoring of Dolby Vision feeds and metadata from SDI equipment on HDMI displays, shared Nick Rashby, President, AJA Video Systems. Dolby Vision support for Hi5-4K-Plus and Hi5-12G will be available to users in a free firmware release coming soon to AJA's support page.
