Destinations in the Asia Pacific region are topping must travel lists year after year. The remarkable cultures, pristine beaches, bustling cities and insane cuisines are the perfect recipe to entice all world travelers.

And as the popularity grows, the colorful souls who call this area home are beginning to shine. Who wouldn't want to spend a day in the life of with these adventurers? We may have posed the question, but GoPro editor Danny Wang answered the call.

He joined filmmaker and self-described nomad Brandon Li along with his girlfriend, Kobe, and two friends, Renee Lusano and Ishita Malaviya, on the APAC trip of a lifetime. From Bangkok and Chiangmai in Thailand to Colombo, Hikkaduwa, Galle, Kandy, Weligama in Sri Lanka, Danny began to share the wanderlust through the crew's adventures and, even better, from their point of view.

We had the chance to sit down with Danny to ask him about this international adventure and pick his brain about the experience.

How was traveling with a crew from all over the world with such diverse talents?

DW: We lucked out working with everyone on the crew. You never know how well a group will interact but overall this was a super successful and fun trip.

We were lucky to have Brandon because, as a knowledgeable filmmaker, he captured some incredible footage throughout our trip. As a production crew, it's always a more exciting experience working alongside other filmmakers to get a variety of different perspectives and opinions on what would make for a good shot. His girlfriend, Kobe, brought such great vibes to the group dynamic.

I also loved working with Renee who is a daredevil and a drone expert. She was always down to try to capture a shot that was outside of her element, always the first person to jump off the sketchy cliffs. Not only was she a fun person to have along on the journey but she captured one of the best Karma shots in the piece.

Lastly, Ishita was such a pleasure to work with on the trip. She is the first Indian Lady Slider who loves teaching young girls and boys to surf-including myself! I didn't really surf, mainly ate shit, but I knee boarded on a wave a bit.

Overall the trip felt more like five friends traveling around versus a traditional work shoot.

What gear were you traveling with?

DW: We captured all the footage using a backpack full of HERO5 cameras, a handful of GoPro mounts, Karma, and most importantly, Karma Grip.

Throughout the piece we were stoked on how smooth the footage was compared to other shoots we've been on, which was thanks to the handheld Karma Grip paired with the image stabilization feature on the HERO5 cameras.

Do you have any favorite shots from the trip?

It had to be when Ishita caught the perfect wave in Sri Lanka. Our drone master Renee was manning Karma at the same time, she caught an epic shot of Ishita cruising down a little inside wave during sunset right past a group of stick fishermen. It was just mesmerizing.

But the best part of it all was the group of local kids watching Renee in awe as she flew Karma. In retrospect, we should've fired up the Passenger App for them!

Everything really had to be just right for that shot to come together, and that rarely happens in production.

What did you enjoy most about the trip?

One of my favorite aspects of this trip was that everyone was really involved, and that speaks to GoPro as a camera. It was more like we were traveling as a crew of friends having fun testing and pushing the boundaries with the gear.

In between the action, we had the opportunity to interact with locals throughout the trip who we're extremely friendly, willing to help us and guide us to other cool travel destinations. That was definitely one of the biggest highlights for me.
