United States Air Force Selects HP for Key Client, Computing and Servers Contract
PALO ALTO, Calif. - HP today announced that the United States Air Force (USAF) has issued a Quantum Enterprise Buy (QEB) procurement for select HP business PCs and Workstations.
HP has supported the Air Force's worldwide enterprise computing needs for several decades, said John Solomon, senior vice president, Printing and Personal Systems, and managing director, Americas, HP. This is a true testament to HP's proven performance as a leading computing infrastructure provider for the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense, providing high-quality technology innovations in the client, computing and servers space as the needs of the Air Force have changed.
Products that will be distributed as part of the procurement include a wide array of business desktop and notebook PCs, including the HP Compaq Pro 6305 SFF, HP Z230 Workstation, HP Z820 Workstation, HP ProBook 640 G1 and the HP ZBook Mobile Workstations. Products acquired through this QEB award will be distributed to USAF bases and facilities around the world.
High-performing, versatile workstations and desktops
With the HP Compaq Pro 6305 Small Form Factor, the USAF will experience the latest AMD processor technology, advanced graphics and manageability. The HP Compaq Pro has the increased benefit of enhanced security with HP Client Security, and a long life cycle.
The HP Z230 Workstation provides a range of features that offer customers reliability and performance for heavy 24/7/365 workloads. The HP Z230 offers next-generation Intel processor and the latest graphics technologies from NVIDIA and AMD.
The HP Z820 Workstation is HP's ultimate in performance computing with next-generation dual Intel processors, support for up to 16 processing cores, and the latest professional graphics.
The HP ZBook Mobile Workstations offer powerful processing and graphics, simple scalability and the blazing-fast connectivity needed for quick performance and collaboration projects.
All HP Z Workstations are ENERGY STAR qualified, registered as Electronics Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT ) Gold products-the highest rating available- and more than 90 percent recyclable by weight.
With the durable HP ProBook 640 G1, tasks can be completed from the office or on the road. These ProBooks are thin, light and packed with productivity features to meet the demand of the USAF's toughest projects, with the added bonus of reliable security solutions.
