Jos S nchez de Rojas, engineer of the Ano 2017 by COIT and the AEIT The engineering director of Orange Spain, receives this award for his important role in the process of democratization, innovation and development of the telecommunications in Spain.

The school officer of engineers of telecommunication)COIT) and the Spanish Association of Telecommunication (engineers)AEIT) have designated as Engineer of the year 2017 Jos S nchez de Rojas, director of engineering of Orange Spain, and have made him the award ceremony at the cena-homenaje held in the salon Real del Casino in Madrid, attended by Alberto Rodr guez Raposo, general director of telecommunications and information technologies.

With this recognition, COIT and AEIT want to emphasize "strong professional track record and commitment to the sector of telecommunications of Jos S nchez de Rojas". The jury, formed by the boards of both institutions, stressed: "the important role that Jos S nchez de Rojas has had on the process of democratization, innovation and development of the telecommunications in Spain".

In the words of Eugenio Font n, directors of COIT and President of the AEIT, "Jos S nchez de Rojas is a person committed to the comprehensive and technical transformation of network infrastructures". Highlighted, in addition, its great commitment to the collective of engineers of telecommunications and their teaching skills and motivation to young people, to generate the engineering vocation"

For his part, Jos S nchez de Rojas has thanked the recognition and has shared it with Orange and his team. "For me is, first, a collective recognition, since are also rewarded the successes harvested in my company, both at the level of business and technical aspect. And on a personal level, of course, is a satisfaction, because it is the recognition by colleagues in my own profession, to a long career of almost 30 years of practice, always in the telecommunications sector. "In addition to encourage me to continue to exercise the profession ethics and society-oriented, this award makes me be championed and example of the College and the Association during this year and many years to come", concluded the engineer of the year 2017 in their words of thanks.

The award for "Engineer of the year", created by COIT and the AEIT in 1982, aims to annually recognize the personal and professional career of award-winning engineer. They have been recognized with this award in previous personalities as: Cayetano Carbajo, Carlos Espin s, Antonio Luque, Mateo Valero, Julio Linares, Emma Fern ndez and Cristina lvarez.

Expert in network infrastructure

Jos S nchez de Rojas is a telecommunication engineer by the ETSIT of the Universidad Polit cnica de Madrid. His career has been, since its inception, in signatures of first level in the world of telecommunications, such as Alcatel, Retevisi n, France Telecom Espa a or Ya.com, and currently part of the network address of Orange in Spain.

His career has allowed him to live in first person the birth of a telecom operator newcomer to the Spanish market through the creation of Uni2, or participate in the liberalization of the sector and attending the evolution and rise of what is today Orange.

Jos S nchez de Rojas hace diez a os que forma parte del equipo directivo de Orange, compa a a la que se incorpor en 2007 y en la que en la actualidad es el Director de Ingenier a de la Operadora. Entre sus proyectos, destaca la renovaci n integral de m s de 15.000 estaciones m viles en toda Espa a para preparar la llegada del 4G, iniciativa en la cual dirigi a equipos de m s de 400 personas.
