Record number of entries reflect inexorable trend to IP and IT-based solutions'

The winners of IABM's sought-after Game Changer Awards were announced at IABM's awards reception and ceremony on 25th April 2017 at the NAB Show Las Vegas. The winners, across ninecategories that align with IABMDC's Global Market Valuation and Strategy Report, together with an extra category for submissions that are outside this remit - Project, Event or Alternative Product/Service - were selected from a record 100+ original high quality submissions.

The judging was carried out by a panel of independent, highly experienced industry professionals, each with specialist expertise in one or more of the award categories, chaired by John Ive, IABM Director of Strategic Insight. The judging process, which required 400 judging decisions by the 36 experts, was finalized at NAB Show with booth visits by the judges to see the technologies in action.

The judges were impressed with both the number and quality of entries this year, said John Ive, They very much reflect the broadcast and media industry's inexorable trend to IP and IT-based solutions.

With so much innovation on show, our robust, auditable judging process once again proved its full worth. The key judging criteria are that winners should be able to demonstrate not only real innovation, but also deliver significant operational and business benefits that open up new opportunities as a result of that innovation. In other words, the winners are real Game Changers, Ive concluded.
