Ningbo s foreign trade value hits RMB 64. billion in 04

According to statistics released by Ningbo Customs, the total foreign trade value of Ningbo reached RMB 643.22 billion (US $104.7 billion) in 2014, up 3.3% compared with the same period of the previous year.

The value of Ningbo's imports in 2014 was RMB 194.06 billion, down 9.7% compared with the same period of the previous year. Ningbo's exports in 2014 totaled RMB 449.16 billion, up 10.2% year on year. The growth rate of Ningbo's foreign trade value and export value was 1% and 5.3% higher than the national growth rate, respectively.

In 2014, the 3 biggest trade partners of Ningbo were the European Union, America, and the ASEAN, with a total import & export value of RMB 137.6 billion, RMB 104.8 billion, and RMB 53.32 billion, and up 9.7%, 7.6%, and 4% year on year, respectively, accounting for 46% of the general import & export value of the city.

The top 3 goods with the biggest import values in 2014 were mechanical and electrical products, primary pattern plastics, and iron ores; mechanical & electrical products and 6 kinds of labor-intensive products realized the city's biggest export value with RMB 128.3 billion, up 11.8% year on year, accounting for 28.6% of the entire exports value in 2014.

In 2014, Ningbo's private companies realized a foreign trade value of RMB 367.2 billion, up 9.3% year on year, accounting for 57.1% of the general import & export value; foreign-invested companies realized a foreign trade value of RMB 224.4 billion, down 5.6%, accounting for 34.9% of the general import & export value.

Besides, the total import & export value via the Ningbo Customs reached RMB 1,342.8 billion in 2014, up 2.1% year on year. Among which the foreign trade value via airline and railways reached RMB 12.74 billion and 2.19 billion, up 14.2% and 17.3%, respectively, compared with the same period of the previous year.
