Earlier this year, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) launched a free, direct-to-consumer streaming service, Eurovision Sport.

The streaming platform offers thousands of hours of live coverage of Olympic sports like athletics, gymnastics, skiing and swimming and even has included broadcasts from world to European championships, multi-sport events, and national championships.

It's been a big change for the EBU the union of public broadcasters across Europe perhaps best known for running the annual Eurovision Song Contest and its shot out of the gate in the months leading up to the Paris Olympics, which are getting underway this week.

In this exclusive interview, Glen Killane, EBU's Executive Director of Sport sits down to discuss the goals of Eurovision Sport, how the team built out the service, and what makes it such an exciting addition to the sports media scene across Europe.
