Media World, the American division of the Mediapro group, has reached an agreement with the Group Hemisphere medium for the sale of three channels of pay TV in Spanish in the US market. The success achieved by the three channels created by Media World makes their possibilities of growth pass by their integration in a broader framework, both territorial and potential audience, as it is the Hemisphere group. There is no doubt that its integration with the giant of the Spanish language in the U.S. cable television arise countless synergies and economies of scale. Media World will continue producing the contents of the channel and providing all the necessary technical services.
The operation includes the channel: passions, with more than 11 million subscribers, dedicated to the broadcast soap operas and series; Centroamerica TV, with 3.3 million subscribers and TV Dominican, with 2.2 million subscribers, both general practitioners. It is expected the transaction to close in the first quarter of 2014.
The American division of the Mediapro group is present in the United States for 15 years and has established itself as a television production company leader in the Hispanic market in the United States and as a production company specialized in development and distribution of audiovisual content. Its activities include the production of audiovisual content, post-production, TV rights management and distribution and transmission of thematic television channels, among others. With headquarters and production centre in Miami, it has HD in Miami and los Angeles Studios. His team consists of two hundred professionals and its annual turnover is more than 100 million dollars.
Hemisphere Media Group, Inc., is a group of media operating in the United States. Based in Florida, the Group owns a television cable network formed by Cinelatino, WAPA Television and WAPA America, dedicated to the broadcast of movies and shows, entertainment in Spanish and is listed on the Nasdaq in New York.
