YouView search for top technology students

On-demand TV service YouView, is looking for enthusiastic, innovative and driven technology students to join its first ever internship this summer.

Technology and innovation is at the heart of everything we do at YouView and the interships offer a unique and valuable experience to help successfully springboard the best and brightest students into their favoured technology career.

Each intern will experience a 10-12 week placement gaining hands-on experience working alongside some of the industry's best technology talent at the YouView offices based in central London. The salary for the internship is £17,000 pro-rata.

Working across the business, students will be exposed to the whole YouView eco-system from developing Flash, HTML and mobile applications to AV media encoding and distribution; from building and managing back-end services to keeping the TV service running 24/7; from developing set-top box software to automated testing; and from working with device manufacturers to helping content providers publish their content.

Candidates should have just finished or about to start their final year of studying engineering, maths, physics or computer science. Holding or be on track for at least a 2:1.

YouView is an on demand TV service with over 70 live free-to-air digital TV and radio channels. It seamlessly combines seven day catch-up on BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 with a library of on demand television programmes, films and radio. A range of quality content is available via on demand players from Dave imagined by UKTV, Now TV, Sky Store, milkshake! and STV. YouView has record, pause and rewind TV functionality as well as a simple search feature.
