Black Widow, Limpopo s first gripping drama series

The local production based on stories from Limpopo, titled Black Widow is a short dramatic story telling the life of a heartbreaker and womaniser. Theatre actor Zwovhonala Farisani plays the lead role of the heartbreaker who finds himself falling in love with the woman of his dreams, who seems to be his perfect match in every way. by Bongiwe Sithole

Sowetan LIVE talks to Millicent Tshiwela Makhado Mothida (popularly known as Agnes Mukwevho on Muvhango) who stages as the lead actress Palesa - a woman in her mid-thirties from Vhenda who is Farisani's lead partner.

Palesa is different from what people are used to seeing me perform. This role is a quite a big achievement. I saw myself grow by working amongst talented people.

I will not go into details about the storyline, all I can say is that Palesa' is a very nice person but you have to be careful of her, she will be generous to you depending on what she wants.

This story in general is simply trying to convey a message that what you do to others will one day be done to you , she says.

Filmmaker Asivhanzi Mathaba says, Black Widow will definitely highlight the stories behind the news often reported in the media about the province. We are telling stories that we have always wanted to tell. As a filmmaker I am humbled by this experience, it is a privilege to be able to tell rich stories from my hometown.

Monde Twala, Head of etv Channel says, Limpopo is a colourful and a dynamic province with vibrant people who strongly connect with our brand, so it is important to ensure that we create opportunities for the people to tell their stories.

Asi-B Films has a better understanding of the province. They have brought gritty, interesting and enlightening stories to the fore , he added.

The drama starts at 9pm tonight on etv.
