Blancanieves takes home 0 Goya Awards including Best Picture out of 8 nominations

Madrid, Spain, 19 February 2013 Pablo Berger's Blancanieves which was finished using SGO's Mistika at IMASBLUE, has taken home 10 Goya Awards out of 18 nominations. The film won Best Picture including Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Leading Actress, Best New Actress, Best Art Direction, Best Photography, Best Makeup and/or Hair Styling and Best Costume Design. It has also been chosen to represent Spain for the 85th Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film Oscar nomination entry. Alberto Rodrguez's latest film Grupo 7, also achieved using SGO's Mistika has won two Goya Awards out of 16 nominations.

Blancanieves was post produced at 2K on a 1.85 format, and relied significantly on SGO Mistika systems to deliver dramatic cinematic results. In line with excellent direction and outstanding acting performances, the film's success reflects the exceptional facilities at IMASBLUE and their talented Mistika artists. Mistika's involvement included intensive camera tests to create the stylised filmic look. The entire film was post produced using Mistika, which included the conform of all the visual effects, as well as over 500 shots that required detailed QC, before being scanned and distributed to various post production areas within the facility. With challenging story-telling colour tools in shades of black and white, clever use of grading feature-sets were available in Mistika to help recreate the required mood and enabled the interpretation of the director's vision to be aesthetically realized.

Grupo 7 was filmed using various high-end digital cameras with majority of the footage captured on two Red One Mysterium X cameras at 4K. Mistikas advanced toolsets were put to use for the entire visual effects process including colour grading, compositing, mastering and DCP creation. Since its release, box office figures have soared to excess of 2 million Euros.
