LOS ANGELES Dec. 9, 2013 TVGN (TV Guide Network) today announced the appointment of David Mandell as Executive Vice President and General Counsel effective immediately. Mandell, who has held top legal executive roles at Mandalay Digital Group and Gemstar-TV Guide, will oversee all legal matters for TVGN, reporting to Dennis Miller, President of Operations, TVGN and Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment and Media, TVG

David is a best-in-class legal advisor who brings a wealth of experience in negotiating content production, acquisition and distribution matters, said Dennis Miller, President of Operations, TVGN. He will play a critical role at TVGN, as we continue building the network with new original programming and expanding our distribution footprint in full-screen and HD.

Based in Los Angeles, Mandell will be responsible for overseeing all of TVGN's business and legal affairs, including corporate development, content distribution agreements, production and programming acquisition deals, and intellectual property rights.

Most recently, Mandell served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel/Corporate Secretary for Mandalay Digital Group, where he managed corporate development and strategic planning, business and legal affairs, and corporate governance and regulatory matters. Previously, Mandell served as Senior Vice President, Business/Legal Affairs at Gemstar-TV Guide, where he negotiated complex carriage agreements in the area of cable, satellite and IPTV programming distribution, as well as structured domestic and international programming license and distribution agreements. Prior to Gemstar-TV Guide, Mandell was Vice President, Business/Legal Affairs at Playboy Entertainment Group.

Mandell earned his J.D. at University of Miami School of Law and a B.A. at the University of Florida.
