TEDIAL AND RTVE HIGHLIGHT GROUNDBREAKING ARCHIVE PROJECT AT FIAT IFTA 23 Oct 2013

Further highlighting its strong commitment to broadcasters and content owners, Tedial is playing a key role in this month's FIAT IFTA conference at The Address Hotel, Dubai Marina, Dubai, Saturday 26th to Monday 28th October.

One of only two platinum sponsors, Tedial will be included in Radio y Televisi n Espa ola's (RTVE) presentation by RTVE Project Manager Carlos Hernandez. The session will highlight RTVE's major archive ingest project, one of the most ambitious digitisation projects in the broadcast sector and certainly the largest in the Spanish speaking world.

He will describe to FIAT IFTA visitors how the network is digitising its entire tape archive spanning more than 50 years dating back to the beginning of Spanish television transmission, over a four-year period. In time and technology terms this equates to more than 580,000 hours of legacy content in various formats including Telecine (one/two inches), Umatic and Beta Cam SP. Hernandez will outline the project's background and explain how with the Tedial Workflow Manager, RTVE managed to recover material with maximum efficiency.

The session at FIAT IFTA will highlight the project's huge significance both from a Tedial pioneering technology standpoint and from a heritage stand point. The digitised material provides the Spanish people with access to important historical information that would otherwise have disappeared.
