Lietuvos Ryto TV Upgrades Newsroom with Grass Valleys GV STRATUS
MONTREAL, September 17, 2017 To leverage its news production and up its game in digital media workflows, Lietuvos Ryto TV, a Lithuanian entertainment channel, working with Baltic system integrator Hannu Pro, looked to Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, for a complete newsroom upgrade. With the GV STRATUS Video Production & Content Management System, Lietuvos Ryto TV now has the efficiency, reliability and scalability it needs for a simple and integrated workflow with the flexibility to grow as business needs require.
A long-time Grass Valley customer, Lietuvos Ryto TV upgraded from a GV Aurora SD News system to the GV STRATUS HD system for its TV channel, which provides news, current affairs and analysis. The speed of the news production and the ability to upload content quickly (via Telestream Vantage) to the web portal is especially important for Lietuvos Ryto TV, and that is why it selected GV STRATUS. Grass Valleys news production system provides the speed and familiarity together with the ease of use. This upgrade also allows the company to smoothly migrate existing Aurora content and metadata into GV STRATUS.
The upgrade includes a whole array of GV STRATUS client licenses running on the STRATUS server subsystem, providing functionality and services, K2 media servers and EDIUS High Res and Proxy editing seats for a full post-production broadcast solution. This will give Lietuvos Ryto TV the opportunity to engage viewers faster than ever before, with compelling reporting and fully edited, ready-to-air packages.
Audrius Berdik lis, CTO of Lietuvos Ryto TV stated, As a long-term user of the GV Aurora news production system, we can definitely say that the Grass Valley news system solution is effective, comfortable and suitable for news workflows in television. Over the years, we understand the urgency of flexibility to grow as our business needs require and to be effective for the ready-to-air news production for live broadcasting and the content delivery for the news portal lrytas.tv. We chose the GV STRATUS Video Production & Content Management System for effective, fast news production and smooth integration with our existing distribution systems live broadcast TV channel and web portal, thanks to the excellent STRATUS metadata integration with our current CMS. The other important feature of the new GV STRATUS system is that it allows our journalists to access existing content proxies for fast NLE editing remotely. All video content with metadata from our current Aurora system will be transferred to the new GV STRATUS system in the nearest future.
Kalvis Baumanis, CEO of Hannu Pro said, Our system integrators experience and proven success allows us to serve as a trusted bridge between vendors and clients, ensuring their smooth implementation and operation. We look forward to our continued business relationship with Grass Valley and thank Lietuvos Ryto TV for their trust in Grass Valley and Hannu Pro to deliver comprehensive, highly functional, and cost-effective solutions.
Since GV STRATUS task-driven tools operate in a variety of environments, and can be specifically tailored for each users job function, Lietuvos Ryto will experience increased efficiency and more effective collaboration throughout the entire news production lifecycle.
With the tight integration between GV STRATUS and EDIUS, and a unique and highly optimized hybrid editing workflow, journalists at Lietuvos Ryto TV can mix and move low-resolution and high-resolution assets, including so-called wild files from citizen journalists across multiple sites, and perform full editing in the field with the EDIUS Workgroup, included as standard in all GV STRATUS Newsroom configurations. Because proxy files are used extensively and intelligently, there is no need for complex SAN configurations.
Jan-Pieter van Welsem, vice president sales and marketing EMEA, Grass Valley commented, We are delighted that Lietuvo Ryto TV chose Grass Valley as their preferred choice among all other competitors to invest for the future. Grass Valley understands that as the news environment changes, broadcast equipment must change as well to adapt to mobile studios, new media platforms and the growing use of user-generated content (UGC).
