ZEISS presents the ultra-compact 3D sensor for easy and fast measurements: the ZEISS COMET L3D 2. "The ZEISS COMET L3D 2 uses the latest sensor technology and project-oriented software for easy and reliable 3D data capture. With its minimal working distance, the ZEISS COMET L3D 2 sensor ensures problem-free operation, even in cramped conditions. This innovative complete solution is ready for use in just a few simple steps and without any lengthy preparation, allowing the operator to concentrate fully on the measuring task. Additional advantages of the system include the ease of use, good value for the money, the new and extremely fast warm-up mode and a design which communicates high quality, including improved ergonomics.
When developing the 3D sensor, ZEISS made flexible application possibilities the number one priority. Thus the extremely compact and lightweight sensor system can be transported to alternating application sites without difficulty. Moreover, the simple on-site calibration enables you to quickly change the measuring field by swapping the lenses. This makes the system ready for new measuring tasks in next to no time.
The ZEISS COMET L3D 2 is the ideal solution for demanding applications in quality assurance because of the outstanding data quality and extremely precise measuring results. One excellent example: easy off-color comparisons for customized analysis and reports for documenting measuring results can be generated using the ZEISS colin3D software. The range of applications for the ZEISS COMET L3D 2 includes inspection, tool manufacture and mold making, design, rapid manufacturing, reverse engineering as well as the archeology and capture of art-historical objects.
Last but not least: the high light intensity and the fast camera of the innovative sensor system mean that users from the aforementioned areas have extreme flexibility when it comes to the application site. "Even in difficult ambient conditions, the ZEISS COMET L3D 2 delivers precise 3D data, automatically recognizes changes in vibration and exposure and offers high-end technology for exceptional data quality with maximum ease of use," explains Steinbichler. "Moreover, the enormous light yield and the distinctively high measuring speed ensure reliable data capture on extremely different object surfaces. The result is a high level of efficiency in workflows and precise measurement data."
