Cellnex Telecom acquires Italian CommsCon CommsCon provee soluciones de cobertura de se al basadas en tecnolog a small cells , en reas y espacios con gran concentraci n de usuarios como los estadios de San Siro en Mil n y la Juventus en Tur n, los metros de Mil n, G nova y Brescia, as como el aeropuerto de Mil n-Malpensa, hospitales, t neles de alta velocidad, el centro hist rico de Mil n, oficinas, recintos feriales y grandes centros comerciales.
Cellnex Telecom ha cerrado, a trav s de su filial Cellnex Italia, la adquisici n de CommsCon, un operador italiano que provee soluciones de cobertura para banda ancha m vil en grandes espacios abiertos y cerrados caracterizados por la alta frecuentaci n y aglomeraci n de personas.
La compra supone una inversi n de 18,65 millones de euros para Cellnex Telecom y tiene un alto significado estrat gico. En este sentido el consejero delegado de Cellnex, Tob as Mart nez, se ala c mo la compra de CommsCon posiciona a Cellnex como un actor clave en el desarrollo y despliegue de soluciones de cobertura de telefon a y datos en espacios de gran concurrencia. Supone la implantaci n de tecnolog as avanzadas basadas en las llamadas small cells' y los sistemas distribu dos de antena (DAS por sus siglas en ingl s) , que dan servicio a distintos operadores partiendo de una nica infraestructura y equipos desplegados .
La densificaci n de las redes en espacios abiertos y cerrados de alta frecuentaci n es uno de los principales vectores del crecimiento de las infraestructuras de telecomunicaciones en los pr ximos a os. No dispondremos de una banda ancha real y en movilidad sino nos preparamos para el reto que va a suponer el despliegue de centenares de miles de small cells' en las grandes reas urbanas , a ade Mart nez.
CommsCon fue fundada en 2002 especializ ndose en la provisi n de servicios de cobertura a los operadores de telefon a m vil en reas de gran afluencia como aeropuertos, hospitales, estadios, grandes oficinas. La compa a opera en Italia 85 salas o cuartos t cnicos alojando 720 Estaciones Base o BTS que canalizan el tr fico de datos. Estas salas conectan a su vez con 12.200 peque as antenas en los llamados DAS (sistemas de antena distribu dos) operados por CommsCon.
Este conjunto de infraestructuras ofrecen cobertura en espacios de gran afluencia como los metros de Mil n, G nova y Brescia. Los estadios de San Siro en Mil n o la Juventus en Tur n. El aeropuerto de Mil n-Malpensa, los hospitales en B rgamo y Mil n, t neles de alta velocidad en Bolonia, el t nel del Gran Sasso (10 km bajo los Apeninos), el centro hist rico de Mil n, oficinas y recintos feriales, y centros comerciales.
El mercado de las small cells' en espacios abiertos y cerrados ser el principal dinamizador de las infraestructuras de telecomunicaciones en los pr ximos a os. En Europa se estima, hasta 2020, el despliegue de 350.000 small cells'.
Por su parte, Cellnex Telecom, tras la adquisici n en marzo de 2015 del portafolio de torres de telecomunicaciones de Wind en Italia, se convirti en el principal operador independiente europeo de infraestructuras de telecomunicaciones inal mbricas, con una cartera total de 15.120 torres (a cierre del 1T de 2016). Cellnex cerr el primer trimestre de 2016 con unos ingresos de 165 millones de euros ( 41%) y un ebitda de 63 millones ( 26%).
El pasado 30 de mayo Cellnex dio a conocer el acuerdo alcanzado con Protelindo Netherlands para la adquisici n de sus 261 emplazamientos de telecomunicaciones en los Pa ses Bajos. Una operaci n que supone la inversi n de 109 millones de euros y la entrada de Cellnex Telecom como operador de infraestructuras en los mercados del norte de Europa.
