Mark Mann shoots Academy Award Winners with Anova Pro

Pinewood Studios, London, March 07, 2017: Leading fashion and celebrity photographer Mark Mann has once again used the Rotolight Anova PRO as his light of choice, in a recent photo shoot with two of this year's Oscar winners.

Mann shot Emma Stone (BAFTA award-winning actress known for Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Amazing Spiderman, and now Best Actress winner for La La Land) and Casey Affleck (producer, director, writer and Best Actor award winner for Manchester By The Sea) using the Anova PRO, an LED location and studio light developed by the award-winning British LED lighting manufacturer Rotolight.

Mark Mann, a long-time user of the Anova, is well-known for his editorial work featured in publications such as Esquire, Men's Health, Billboard, and a portfolio including shoots with Al Pacino, Keira Knightley, Eddie Redmayne, Barack Obama, Benedict Cumberbatch and Rihanna.

Despite having tested a few continuous lighting panels in the past, I never liked the feel of them. But once I tried the Anova, I found I could get something different, says Mann. It's subtle, but there's something about the slowness' of the light mixed with the quality of the Leica, my camera of choice. The light is absolutely beautiful and gives you a filmic feel. There's also something about the wrap' of the light. I still can't quite put my finger on why the Anova is so good. The light is so versatile that it gives the shoot a very different feel, you can move light to wherever you want to get the desired effect and see what you're actually shooting. It works out really well.

I do a lot of shoots, and the type of people I photograph have seen and done everything, so it's great to have something different on your shoot. When you are working with people in the industry who have seen it a 100 times before, then having something different that creates a conversation, like the ANOVA, is great. The fact that the lights are beautiful makes me look good too! concludes Mann.
