EUROVISION named host broadcaster for 05 alpine world ski championships

EUROVISION has been named the official host broadcaster of the 2015 International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek, following the conclusion of a deal with the 2015 local organizing committee.

Under the agreement, Eurovision Production Coordination (EPC), the EBUs production company, will build an ambitious broadcast installation to provide an international signal in HD from all events, for the benefit of media rights holders.

A 200-strong team of broadcast professionals will join EPC in establishing and manning more than 100 camera positions on the two mountains where the championships will take place between 2 and 15 February 2015.

This host broadcasting agreement completes a hat trick of open-tender contracts that the EBU has won in relation to the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. The EBU already holds separate agreements for the worldwide media rights and the marketing rights.

After our successful production of the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Moscow this year, we will deliver another top quality production that will be seen by a worldwide audience.

Vail Valley Foundation president and head of the 2015 World Championships Organizing Committee Ceil Folz said: We are extremely pleased to have EUROVISION as a key partner in bringing the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and Vail and Beaver Creek to the world. Their expertise is unparalleled and we look forward to working together to capture all of the excitement and festivities, both on and off the racecourses.

The 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships are expected to attract over 700 athletes from more than 70 nations. The event will be chronicled by some 1,500 members of the international print, photo and broadcast media, and approximately 750 million viewers around the globe will tune in to watch the action during the two weeks of the Championships.
