Arvato Systems professionally advised and adequately supported Finland's largest private TV station MTV Oy to migrate CoreMedia CMS into the AWS cloud
Beyond the initial analysis of the status quo, the IT service provider from G tersloh will be responsible for both application and release management in the future
(Arvato Systems) G tersloh - The Finnish TV station MTV Oy is the first media company to deploy CoreMedia on Cloud , the cloud version of CoreMedia's content management system (CMS). This technological milestone was made possible by the professional advice and support provided by Arvato Systems.
As a CoreMedia platinum partner, the G tersloh-based IT service provider did not only convince the media group with its outstanding expertise in the adequate adaption and subsequent implementation of the CoreMedia solution, but also with its experience and know-how in the media industry. Arvato Systems had already implemented its media sales solution for an optimized TV commercial placement at MTV Oy. As part of the current project, the system integrator adapted the CoreMedia CMS to the individual needs of Finland's largest private station, making the solution cloud-ready. After migration into the Amazon Cloud (Amazon Web Services, AWS for short), which will be supported by the Finnish IT consulting company Cybercom, Arvato Systems will be responsible for application and release management and will also advise Cybercom on infrastructure planning and system monitoring.
Professional application and release management
At the beginning of this multi-phased project, Arvato Systems first analyzed the status quo of the existing on-premise installation of the CoreMedia CMS at MTV Oy and then created a roadmap based on that analysis. The roadmap formed the basis for the code-specific adjustments needed to run the CMS as a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solution in the cloud. Once the migration is completed, the IT service provider will further develop the CMS in line with application management and provide MTV Oy with appropriate support. Moreover, the TV station will benefit from a professional release management process: Arvato Systems will maintain the CMS and install necessary updates automatically, which secures best cloud capacity in the long run.
Relevant, flexible and highly powerful
Migrating its CMS into the cloud is indeed very beneficial for MTV Oy. On the one hand, the private TV station hands over the operation of the system to a specialized service provider, which increases its own development capacity. On the other hand, the media company benefits from latest system updates and optimal scalability at all times. In addition, it can intercept any load peaks flexibly and cost-effectively. While more than 100 editors can create and efficiently manage content and assets for various digital channels on demand, consumers will enjoy visiting a highly performant and intuitive website.
