Since airing as the first independent radio station in South Korea in 1954, CBS has developed a long-standing reputation of broadcasting high-quality news and entertainment content. Its nationwide radio network has since expanded into 14 branches, and in 2002, the broadcaster began its own Christian television station. Committed to producing high-quality content for all forms of mass communication, earlier this year CBS had been looking for a solution that would enable its news team to transmit reliable HD quality video in the field for publishing on its social media channels and website. The multimedia group found what it was looking for in TVU Networks, and CBS recently purchased the TVU Networks TVU One mobile IP video transmitter.

CBS news department is using the TVU One for production of its real-time news show, Daily Nocutnews, from the field. TVU One is helping CBS easily create video content that appeals to its mobile and web viewing audience, in addition to traditional broadcasting viewership. CBS provides programs via cable and satellite to the Korean peninsula and other parts of East Asia.

TVU One mobile IP video transmitter
Featuring the companys patented Inverse Statmux Plus (IS+) transmission algorithm, the award-winning TVU One delivers high-definition picture quality with 0.5 second latency at 3Mbps within an ultra compact and rugged hardware design. It uses HEVC/H.265 compression standard to deliver greater efficiency in data use and increased transmission stability, and can transmit simultaneously over multiple mediums, including cellular, microwave, satellite, BGAN, WiFi and Ethernet. With TVU One, CBS can fully leverage the versatility of a small, lightweight, IP-based high-definition video field transmitter without sacrificing performance, features or picture quality.
Already in use by hundreds of leading broadcast organizations around the world, the TVU Networks family of IP transmission solutions give broadcasters and organizations a powerful and reliable tool to distribute live video content to broadcast, online and mobile platforms.
